About Northwood

Oregon-built trailers and truck campers with heavier frames and better cold-weather insulation than most. Arctic Fox and Nash are the lines to look at.

Northwood Manufacturing was started in 1993 by Ron Nash in La Grande, Oregon, and now employs close to four hundred people building Arctic Fox trailers and fifth wheels, Nash travel trailers, Fox Mountain fifth wheels, Desert Fox toy haulers, and Arctic Fox and Wolf Creek truck campers. The engineering priority is cold weather and rough roads: welded aluminum framing, one-piece fiberglass sidewalls, high-density block insulation and heated, enclosed holding tanks on the four-season models.

Owners tend to be the people who camp in October, park at elevation, and tow on gravel. Arctic Fox is the heavy four-season line, Nash covers lighter and shorter tow-friendly trailers, Desert Fox carries the sleds and quads, and Wolf Creek and Arctic Fox campers put similar construction on a truck bed. Because the build is substantial, check dry weight and axle ratings against your tow vehicle first, then compare insulation values and tank sizes model by model.
