Rockwood

The Rockwood line spans tent campers, small trailers, and full-size fifth wheels, so it covers a wide range of budgets.

Rockwood started in Millersburg, Indiana in 1972 and has been part of Forest River, a Berkshire Hathaway company, since 1996. The lineup is unusually broad: folding tent campers and hard-side A-frames at one end, Geo Pro and Mini Lite small trailers in the middle, then Ultra Lite and Signature travel trailers and fifth wheels at the top. Signature construction uses vacuum-laminated one-piece walls, six-sided aluminum framing, Azdel composite and a walkable laminated roof.

That range is the point: a family can start in a Geo Pro behind a half-ton, move up to a Mini Lite when the kids need bunks, and stay with the brand into a Signature fifth wheel. Roo expandables add tent-end beds without much extra length. Weigh the trims carefully, because insulation packages, enclosed underbellies and heated tanks vary between series, and that difference decides whether a trailer handles shoulder-season camping in the mountains.
