Starcraft

Entry and mid-level towables from the Jayco group, aimed mostly at first-time buyers.

Few RV names go back as far as Starcraft, which began in Goshen, Indiana in 1903 as a farm equipment maker, moved into boats, and started building tent campers in 1964. Jayco bought the RV division in 1991, and the brand is now produced in Middlebury, Indiana within the Thor Industries family. Current towables are entry-level focused: Autumn Ridge and Super Lite travel trailers, plus GSL travel trailers and fifth wheels.

The appeal is straightforward value with real structure behind it. Trailers use welded aluminum framing with vacuum-bonded lamination, a crowned walkable roof and a PVC roofing membrane, and they carry a one-year limited warranty plus a three-year structural warranty. First-time buyers and growing families are the natural fit, particularly in the lighter single-axle layouts that a mid-size truck can pull. Compare floorplans on sleeping capacity and dry weight, then check which packages are standard rather than optional.
