Intermittent faults are the hardest thing to fix in an RV, because a modern coach is several systems layered on top of each other: 12 volt, 120 volt, propane, water, and increasingly a network of control boards that talk to each other.
Diagnostics is booked as its own job for exactly that reason. Rather than guessing at parts, a technician traces the fault to its source and then quotes the repair, so you are paying to fix the cause instead of replacing components that turn out to be fine.
What the work covers
- Electrical fault tracing across 12 volt and 120 volt systems
- Converter, inverter and charger testing under load
- Control board and multiplex system diagnosis
- Propane system leak detection and regulator testing
- Water ingress tracing, including moisture readings through walls and floor
- Slide-out and levelling system fault finding
- Written findings and a quote before any repair goes ahead
Photos help. You can text pictures of the fault to your Supercentre before the appointment so the advisor has context.
