A trailer that tows badly is usually a hitch problem, not a driving problem. Weight distribution, sway control and a correctly set brake controller are what turn a nervous tow into an uneventful one, and all three have to be matched to the actual loaded weight of your trailer and the specification of your tow vehicle.

Our hitch shop sizes and installs the whole setup, then sets it up with the trailer attached rather than handing you a box of parts.

What the work covers

  • Weight distribution hitch sizing and installation
  • Sway control setup, adjusted with the trailer loaded
  • Brake controller installation and gain setting
  • Fifth wheel hitch installation, including rail and puck systems
  • Receiver hitch and wiring installation on tow vehicles
  • Pin and tongue weight measurement against your payload rating
  • Bearing repack and trailer brake inspection
